This paper introduces the principles and main components of a CAD and control system for making lace jacquard cards. The hardware equipments of this system includes digitizer, GW-386 micro-computer, console,control mechanism, punch and detector. It illustrates the design scheme and characteristics of the CAD software. In order to convenince users and satisfy the requirements for adding new-type embro-ideries and complex pattern, this system uses the techniques of menu-driven and structured programming design method, so that it has freindly man-machine interface and extansible functions. Some fundamental algorithms are discussed alse.
