Protecting the national interest:a task of great significance for the Chincse government in the transitional period

:在中国从计划体制向市场体制转变过程中的一段时间内 ,个人主动保护国家利益的动力不足 ,国家利益极容易受到损害 ;而政府作为公共意志的代表 ,具有保护公共财产、维护国家安全的职能 ,也只有政府才会主动地保护国家利益。因此转型时期中国政府的一项重要任务就是保护国家利益 。

In the period when China experiences the process of transforming from the planned system to the market system,there is a lack of individual motivation in protecting tbe national interest, which therefore is subject to harm;the government serves as the representative of the public will,and possesses the function of protecting the public facilities and maintaining the national security,so it is the government that can be willing to protect the national interest.Hence,a very important task for the Chinese government in the transitional period lies in the protection of the national interest,which is a symbol of the effective government in this period.
