在世界各地区中 ,非洲是综合实力最弱的地区 ,这里不存在真正意义上的大国。而随着冷战的结束 ,非洲原有的地缘政治战略地位丧失殆尽 ,其在西方大国外交战略中的地位进一步边缘化。非洲经济由于内部缺陷也在全球经济中日趋边缘化 ,它融入全球经济的程度越深 ,在世界经济中的重要性就越小。地缘政治价值下降和经济边缘化又使得非洲国家的主权遭到严重侵蚀 。

Africa is the weakest region in the world in terms of comprehensive national strength and there is no big power in real sense in the Continent. With the end of the cold war and the coming of the competitive era of the comprehensive national strength, Africa has lost its original geographic and political strategic position, becoming more marginalized in the western countries' foreign strategies. African economy, due to its inner defect, has also marginalized in the global economy. Therefore, the more African economy gets involved in the global economy, the less important it has become. Moreover, African countries' sovereignties have also been seriously damaged due to the decline of its geographic and political value as well as the economic marginalization.
