This article analyzes the influence of Israel's occupation of and rule in West Bank and Gaza from 1967 to 1987. Politically, Israel wanted to control the two regions forever, denying the existence right of Palestinian people, thus leading to the rise of Palestinian national sense and their anti-Israel struggle. Economically, Israel's control of the Palestinian economy caused serious backwardness and poverty in the two areas, throwing a heavy shadow on current Palestine-Israel peace talks.
