On Leisure and Aesthetic

在中西历史上,不同学科的学者都对休闲和审美进行过考察,但这些考察并没有真正地揭示休闲和审美的本性。休闲的本性在于它是一个动态的生成过程,在此过程中,休闲者和休闲对象生成自身,从而让人成为人,让物成为物,人和物相互生成。审美是一种自由境界,在此境界中,人与他人,人与物,人与精神都达到和解,从而交互生成。休闲和审美天然地联系在一起,二者在时间上是瞬间与永恒、在空间上是超越与回归的关系,同时在时空上表现为个体与普遍的关系。

In both Chinese and western history, scholars from different disciplines have made aninvestigation into leisure and aesthetics, but these studies did not really reveal their respective nature.The nature of leisure lies in its dynamic generation process, during which the leisure personsand the leisure objects generate themselves so as for people to become people, for things tobecome things, for people and things to produce each other. Aesthetic is a free state, in whichman and others, man and object, and man and spirit all achieve reconciliation so that they generateone another. Leisure and aesthetic are naturally linked together; they are instantaneous and eternalin time, transcendent and regressive in space, individual and universal in time and space atthe same time.
