Before wisdom of society,the work of translation was limited to human translation,which had limitationslike low efficiency and uncertain quality. With the development of information technology,people are increasinglyeager to use machine and technologies to help overcome the language barrier. The creation of corpus technologyand translation memory technology has brought a revolution to the development of translation mode. Computeraided translation has been developing and maturing,as a good tool for translators to enhance translation efficiency andensure translation quality. Combing the development of modern information technology,the paper will briefly introducethe history of computer aided translation (referred to as CAT for short),relevant core concepts,the revolutionbrought by corpus technology and translation memory technology and the development prospect of computer aidedtranslation software.
