中国大运河苏州段成功跻身世界文化遗产后的再思索

Reflection on Successfully Ranking the Suzhou Section of China's Grand Canal as World Cultural Heritage

苏州是一座运河之城,4条运河故道和7个遗产点段构成了以古城为核心的遗产体系。继中国大运河苏州段被纳入世界文化遗产后,苏州应以此为契机,进一步深化对古城遗产价值的认识,探索具有地方特色、符合地方实际的历史文化名城保护路径,促使古城得到更好的保护,提升苏州在世界历史文化名城中的地位。

As a canal city, four old courses and seven heritage spots in Suzhou constitute the heritage system centering on the ancient city. The Suzhou Section of China’s Grand Canal was admitted as World Cultural Heritage, which should be regarded as an opportunity for the city to improve the understanding of the ancient city’s value as cultural heritage, and to explore approaches that bear local characteristics and suit the local conditions to protect the famous historical and cultural city, so as to ensure the better protection of the ancient city and promote Suzhou’s position among other historical and cultural cities around the world.
