A Logic for Characterizing “Apt Action”

"合适行动"是行动哲学和人工智能领域的一个重要概念,其基本元素包括"意图"、"能够"和"致使"。用邻域语义可以比较好地刻画意图、能够和致使及其相互间的形式关系,从而间接地刻画了合适行动。这种形式刻画不仅有助于分析意向行动,而且还能够分析意向行动的两种特殊形式:偶然成功行动和行动失败。

“Apt action” is an important concept in philosophy of action and artificial intelligence.Its basic elements include “intention”, “can” and “bring about”. We provide a logic for characterizing the operators of “intention”, “can” and “bring about” and their mutual formal relations by using the neighborhood semantics. Such characterization not only promotes the analysis of intentional action, but it is also capable to elucidate two special kinds of intentional actions: accidental successful action and failed action.
