摘要
习语是语言的一种特殊形式,携带着大量的该语言使用国家的文化与风俗信息,不同语言的习语表现出使用该语言的民族在环境、风俗、历史、文化等方面的独特特征。翻译者们一直在探索习语翻译的最佳途径,以使译文既能传递原有的信息,又能被读者容易地理解。英语和汉语是两种差异巨大的语言,给英语习语的翻译带来了困难,而本文将根据实例来探析适当的翻译技巧和方法。
As a unique form of language,idioms carry tons of the information of culture and customs in its motherland;therefore there are various differences between idioms from two different languages,showing different environment,customs,histories,cultures and so on. Translators have always been working on the best ways to translate idioms,in orderto convey the original information as well as make the translation easily understood. English and Chinese are two totallydifferent languages,causing difficulties for translators.This essay will explore and analyze appropriate translation techniquesand methods based on examples.
