The application value and necessity of wavelength selective reflector in PON optical link test and diagnosis system were referred. The application characteristics of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) reflector were discussed, a comparison between FBG refl ector and thin fi lm fi lter (TFF) was made, and the current status of FBG refl ector in the international market was also listed. Finally, the present progress that has been made to meet the cost requirement was briefl y introduced.
