中国留学生在美国参加服务性学习项目的调查研究——基于美国南加州大学的实证调查

摘要 文章研究的主要目的是测试美国的服务性学习项目作为一种教学方法在中国学生中应用的效果。通过访谈在美国南加州大学留学的30名中国留学生,得出以下的结论:服务性学习项目为理论联系实践提供了平台、增强了学生的职业意识、促进了学生自信心的建立、培养了独立能力和社会责任感、帮助学生获得了团队合作的能力、增强了沟通及社交能力、提升了学生们的跨文化适应能力、发展了学生愿意参与到社区服务的积极态度。服务性学习项目对学生全方位的培养起到了非常重要的作用。 The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate effects of the American Service-Learning Program on Chinese students as a teaching method. By interviewing 30 Chinese oversea students in University of Southern California, the following conclusions are derived. First, Service-Learning Program provides a great opportunity for students to connect theory with practical questions. It also improves the professional awareness of students and helps to develop their self-confidence, ability of living independently and social responsibility. Besides, the ability of cooperating with team members and social communication for students are also improved through this program. More importantly, Chinese oversea students learn how to adjust to local multi-cultural environment and they are very willing to play some roles in community services actively after attending this program. In summary, the American Service-Learning Program plays a very important role in developing students’ ability in multiple aspects.
