Aiming at the problem ol information security in power system, the application ol digital watermarking technology helps to improve the information security. The basic principles of digital watermarking technology are discussed from the aspects of basic model and feature of digital watermarking system. According to the different forms of the media,the digital watermarking technology is analyzed.Based on the application of digital watermarking technology in electric power safety and security, thepractical application is discussed in the aspects of covert communication, content authentication and copyright protection. Finally,the development trend of digital watermarking technology is prospected.
