梁代萧琛生卒年考辨

A Textual Research on Xiao Chen's Years of Birth and Death

史书载萧琛卒于梁中大通三年(531)二月,享年52岁,则其生年为齐建元二年(480)。这是既定之事,本无纷争。然曹道衡、陈庆元先生提出质疑。曹道衡认为萧琛之享年在67岁左右,陈庆元认为在70岁以上,于是异说起矣。萧琛之生卒年及生平从来无人考述,这对南朝历史的研究极为不利。结合史书所载,就会发现曹、陈二先生的质疑是无事实做依据的。在没有新材料发掘之前,萧琛之生卒年还以史书所载较为稳妥。

According to historical records,Xiao Chen died in February the 3rdyear of Datong(A.D. 531)at age the of52,that suggests he was born in the 2ndyear of Jianyuan(A.D. 480). It is a fact agreed upon. However,Mr. Cao Dao-heng and Mr. Chen Qingyuan challenged the records. Cao held that Xiao Chen died at the age of around 67 while Chen be-lieved that Xiao Chen had outlived seventy years. As a result,different opinions came into being. However,nobody hasever made a textual research into Xiao Chen's times of birth and death as well as his life. This is disadvantageous to thestudy of the history of the Southern Dynasties. The research of this paper finds that Cao and Chen's questioning is ground-less and,therefore,suggests that it is comparatively reliable to base Xiao Chen's times of birth and death on written re-cords before new materials are discovered.
