“Escape consciousness”is the spiritual gene of Xiao Hong’s road of life and literature. It has profound influence on the content and aesthetic style of her literary creation. Based on the“escape consciousness”and mixed with sorrow, suffering and bitterness of her life, Xiao Hong paid close attention to women’s fate at the bottom of society. She wrote their misery and suffering, their intolerance and hope into the works, depicting the numb, weak, patient images of women to suppress the critique of the patriarchal society.“Escape consciousness”also shows Xiao Hong’s sense of drift, lyric style and poetic language in her works.
