This paper reviews the basic properties,application and production capacity of biaxially orientedpolypropylene(BOPP)film in China as well as the research and development of the grade,structure and usage ofthe resin in advanced polyolefin companies.The structural characteristics and properties such as melt flow rate,isotactic index,ash,relative molecular mass and molecular weight distribution are also introduced.It suggeststhat the BOPP plants and BOPP film manufacturers should cooperate mutually to develop new BOPP film thatmeets the requirements of the market and reduce the dependence of imported resin according to the propertiesand demands of the resin in China.
