The paper summarized the challenges for teachers under the background of the New Curriculum Reform,analyzed the bottlenecks that restrict the teaching ability of English Majors in local Normal Universities,and pointed out the current problems existed in the cultivation of English majors in local Normal Universities. Combined with the New Curriculum Reform and the requirements of the local development,the paper explored the strategies of cultivating the teaching ability of English majors in local Normal Universities so as to enhance the teaching ability of English majors,and make contributions for the development of the local basic education.
