“Rooted” Career and “Slow” Art:My Outlook on Chinese Education

语文的背后是"人",语文教育的根本价值就是"育人"。小学语文是一门"慢"的艺术,要在恰当的时机教有用的知识,要在充裕的时间中过悠闲舒适的课堂生活,要让学生在教师制造的"学习障碍"中提高言语实践水平。语文教学要通过让学生说真话、说自己的话、说负责任的话,追求通俗易懂、得体妥帖、新颖别致的言语品质。

The back of Chinese is “man” and the fundamental value of Chinese education is “educatingman”. Primary school Chinese is a kind of “slow” art, so teachers should teach useful knowledge at the propertime, lead a leisure and comfortable life during the suffi cient period of time, and provide students with chancesto improve their linguistic proficiency by overcoming the obstacles deliberately made by teachers. Chineseteaching should give students opportunities of speaking truly, personally, and responsibly to pursue the speechquality of popularity, felicity, and novelty.
