“第三次工业革命”的概念是否成立——基于历史唯物主义理论框架的学术史思考

The Third Industrial Revolution Is a Serious Academic Concept——A Reflection on the Academic History Based on the Theoretical Framework of Historical Materialism

"第三次工业革命"是一个需要做深入学术甄别的概念。在这一概念提出之前,学术史上已经有"后工业社会"、"新经济"、"知识经济"、"第二次现代化"等类似概念提出。本文运用历史唯物主义的理论框架对相关概念做了甄别,提出生产方式进而生产工具的本质差异是区别和界定技术进步和社会发展阶段的基本标准。工业革命改变了生产工具的动力形态,而信息技术革命改变了生产工具的控制形态。"第三次工业革命"是基于计算机和互联网等信息技术革命因素的,与"后工业社会"等表达方式在本质上都属于信息技术革命和信息经济时代的概念范畴。工业革命是改变工具动力形态的技术变革,不能用来表达改变工具的控制形态的技术变革,"第三次工业革命"作为一个严肃的学术概念并不成立。

The Third Industrial Revolution is a academic concept need to be distinguished. Before this concept, some oth-er similar concepts had already been proposed in academic history, such as the Post-Industrial Society, The New Economy,the Knowledge-based Economy and the Second Modernization. In this paper, these concepts are distinguished based thetheoretical framework of historical materialism. Essential difference among different modes of production and tools of pro-duction is the basic standard to distinguish and understand technological progress and social stages. Industrial revolutionchanged dynamic form of tools of production. And the information technology revolution has changed the control form oftools. The Third Industrial Revolution is based on factors about information technology revolution, such as internet and com-puter. So that, both the third Industrial Revolution and the other concepts including the Post-Industrial Society, and so on,are concepts about information technology revolution and information economy era. Industrial revolution changed dynamicform of tools, which cannot be used to describe the technology revolution changed control form of tools. Finally, the Third In-dustrial Revolution is not a serious academic concept.
