With the rapid development of mobile Internet technology and the rapid popularization of smart phones,the instant messaging tools are rapidly expanding in the world.As the main market of instant messaging technology,China has experienced fierce competition in technology and products,and plays the important role in the global market.This paper reviews and analyzes the patent layout in the field of instant messaging in China to dentify the environment of intellectual property rights in the field of instant messaging in China and propose the suggestions to promote the development of instant messaging technology innovation in China.
