摘要
蔡元培是20世纪上半叶中国最重要的教育家、思想家与美育家。担任中华民国首任教育总长期间,他明确提倡美育方针;担任北京大学校长期间,他提倡以科学精神与方法创作及研究美术,并确定科学和美术为教育的两大方针。蔡元培的科学美术观,弘扬的既是一种对中国传统艺术与文化的改造精神,还包括东西方美术与科学融合的方法,他对科学与美术的求同存异,是其艺术思想在美育理论及实践中的具体反映,极大地促进了中国美术的现代化进程。
Cai Yuanpei was the most important educator, thinker and art educator in China in the first half of the 20th century. When he was the first Minister of Education of the Republic of China, he explicitly advocated art education. When he was the president of Peking University, he called for creating and researching fine arts with scientific spirit and approaches and established two guidelines for education,namely, science and fine arts. His scientific outlook on art carried forward a spirit of transforming traditional Chinese art and culture and the approach to integrating Oriental and western fine arts with science.His view of seeking common points while reserving difference in science and fine arts was the concrete reflection of his artistic ideas in aesthetic education theories and practices, which greatly promoted the modernization process of Chinese fine arts.
