A good use of figures of speech in an composition always determines its literacy grace and appeal.As a common way of expressing peoples'strong feelings,repetition both in Chinese and English can be seen everywhere.This thesis tries to compare the similarities and differences between them from definition,psychological basis,rhetorical effect,classification and the translating strategies and principles as well.
