《汉英韵府》南官话音系研究

A study on Phonology of Southern Official Dialect of China in Syllabic Dictionary of the Chinese Language

《汉英韵府》(1874)是美国汉学家卫三畏编纂的重要字典。文章以《汉英韵府》所记录的南官话为研究对象,使用归纳法、拟测法、比较法等方法进行分析,对字典所记录的南官话语音进行归纳,拟测出当时南官话的声母、韵母系统以及声调,明确其音系特点,以补充和丰富官话方言研究的成果,为明清官话研究提供材料。

The Syllabic Dictionary of the Chinese Language(1874)is an important dictionary compiled by Samuel Wells Williams,an American sinologist.This paper takes the southern official dialect of China recorded in the Syllabic Dictionary of the Chinese Language as the study object and analyzes the dialect using method of induction,reconstruction method and comparison method.All the voices of southern official dialect recorded in the dictionary were concluded to reconstruct the syllable onset and syllable rime system and tones of the then southern official dialect,and figure out its phonetic system characteristics,in an effort to supplement and enrich the study findings of southern official dialect and provide information for study on Mandarin Chinese spoken in Ming&Qing dynasties.
