Practices and Enlightenment of American Modern Public Library Services

美国公共图书馆界在为弱势群体服务、数字资源采购、创新空间的设置以及纸质图书的收藏与剔除等方面在理念与实践上存在诸多优势。浙江省公共图书馆界可借鉴相关经验:公共图书馆的弱势群体服务必须与社区紧密结合,成为社区服务的一部分;提倡数字阅读,提高数字资源的采购占比;规划全省图书资源的收藏框架、制定全省各级图书馆的收藏指导意见。

The American public libraries have many theoretical and practical advantages in services for disadvantagedgroups,digital resources purchasing,innovation space designing and collection and weeding of printed books.The publiclibraries in Zhejiang can learn from them from the following aspects:to integrate services for disadvantaged groupsprovided by public libraries with communities,and make it part of community services;to encourage digital readingand increase the proportion of digital resources purchasing;to develop a collection framework of provincial literatureresources,and formulate a collection guide for libraries at all levels in the province.
