也簋铭补释

Supplement of Interpretation for the Inscriptions on “Ye Gui”

也簋,据传1931年出土于洛阳,原为刘体智旧藏,现藏比利时布鲁塞尔皇家艺术博物馆。考虑到此器的形制、纹饰,时代应为西周早期。该簋仅存一盖,盖铭奇诡高古,虽经诸多先贤考释,仍有疑义。簋铭所涉的"吾考"中的"吾"非人称代词,应为"考"的修饰词,"吾考"是美称;"沈"非国邑封地之名,应为"子"的形容词;"■"即"■",是一种在宗庙或宗庙中的大室举行的重要祭礼。也簋的族属非"汉阳诸姬"之沈器。

“Ye Gui”,unearthed in Luoyang in1931,the original collectorwas Liu Tizhi and now it is collected by the Royal Art Museum in Brussels,Belgium.Considering its shape and decoration,it should be the vessel in early Western Zhou Dynasty.Only one lid was left,and the inscriptions on it were strange and old,so there is still doubts about its interpretation.We think“Wu”of“Wu Kao”in inscriptions was not a personal pronoun,but should be the modifier of“Kao”,so“Wu Kao”was a laudatory name;“Shen”was not a city name,but should be an adjective of“Zi”;“”was“”,and it was an important rite held in the ancestral temple.Therefore,the tribe category of“Ye Gui”was no“t Shen Qi”belonging to“Zhu Ji in Hanyang”.
