对公安院校警务英语教材编写原则的探讨

Study on the Compiling Principles of Policing English Teaching Materials in Police Colleges

警务英语是警务工作或执法活动中使用的专业英语,是专门用途英语里的一个分支。公安院校的警务英语课程大多使用的是自编教材,且教材建设一直处在不断探索中。因此,有必要对警务英语课程的定位及教材的功能等概念进行界定和梳理,对警务英语教材编写理论及原则进行探讨,从而规范警务英语教材建设,提高警务英语教材的标准与质量。警务英语教材的编写应遵循需求分析与理论指导相结合、专业知识学习与语言能力训练相结合、实践能力培养与跨文化交际能力培养相结合、课堂可操作性与学生自主学习能力发展相结合等若干原则。

Policing English,a branch of English for specific purposes,is a kind of professional English usedin the policing work or law enforcement activities.It is necessary to define the positioning and function of theteaching materials,and to study the compiling theory and principles of Policing English teaching materials,thus enhancing the standard and quality of teaching materials.Compiling of Policing English teachingmaterials should abide by the following principles:combination of needs analysis and theory guidance,combination of specialized knowledge learning and language competence training,combination of practicalability training and intercultural communication competence cultivating,combination of classroomoperability and students’autonomous learning development.
