The backgrounds of era and the subject are the subjective and objective factors of the stylistics ofLiu Xie’s The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons.The specific content,the formation of eight styles and theprinciple of holding literature style are discussed in this article to study the theory framework of its“fourfactors”of stylistics.The research on the value influence of the“four factors”shows us Liu Xie’s reference andinheritance of ancient Chinese literature theory.His main idea is the“doctrine of mean”,whose theoreticalvalue is“the unity and coherence in writing”.Through the study of the promotion and influence of the“fourfactors”on ancient Chinese literature theory,the special theoretical significance could be shown.
