Shen Weijing's First Visit to Japanese Military Camp in Pyongyang for Negotiation

万历朝鲜战争期间(1592-1598)的对日和谈首席代表沈惟敬是当时东亚和平事业的一个关键性人物,但关于其对日交涉活动的具体情况,实证研究仍显不足。文章主要利用朝鲜方面的第一手资料《李元翼状启》考述万历二十年(1592)八月底沈惟敬初入日营交涉的相关情形,认为其当时的对日交涉获得了成功。

Shen Weijing was a chief representative of Ming China in Sino-Japanese negotiation during Japanese Invasions of Korea(1592-98).He was a key figure in promoting the peace in East Asia.However,little research has been conducted about the negotiation.This paper uses one kind of primary source from Korea named Yi Wonik's Report to study Shen Weijing's first visit to Japanese military camp in Pyongyang,and indicates that his negotiation with Japan eased the situation in Korea and achieved a great success.
