浅析中国特色外交类词汇的现状及翻译问题——以“一带一路”为例

A Brief Analysis on the Status Quo and Translation of Diplomatic Vocabulary with Chinese Characteristics: Taking the "Belt and Road Initiative" as an Example

伴随时代的进步,中国与其他国家的联系更为紧密,在外事外交方面的发展也蒸蒸日上,因此很多具有中国特色的词汇也逐步走向国际舞台。外交词汇的翻译是一种严谨的应用翻译,本文通过分析外交类词汇翻译水平并不完善的现状和中国特色外交词汇很难在英语中找到完全匹配的译法的问题,笔者最后得出可以异化的翻译策略为主导在保留"中国特色"的同时也考虑英语习惯用法的结论。这样既能使跨文化交际达到的双向平衡的目的,又能彰显具有独特魅力的中华文化,可以更好地实现中国的对外活动。

Along with the progress of times,China is more closely linked with other countries.Developments in foreign affairs and diplomacy are also flourishing and hence many words with Chinese characteristics are gradually moving to international stage.The translation of diplomatic words is a rigorous applied translation.Through the analysis of problems concerning the present situation of imperfect diplomatic vocabulary translation and that it is difficult to find a completely matched translation in diplomatic words with Chinese characteristics,the author draws the conclusion that foreignization can be taken as the dominant strategy of translation and consider English idiomatic usages as well as keep Chinese characteristics.This will not only make cross-cultural communication achieve two-way balance,but highlight the unique charm of Chinese culture so as to achieve Chinese foreign activities.
