Curriculum reform based on professional ability training is one of the main directions of the current curriculum reform against a background of cultivating excellent practical skilled talents.The paper presents the necessity of the teachingreform in mechanicsof fishing materials.Detailed measures of curriculum reform are described including curriculum content,textbook construction,teaching methods,teaching techniques,curriculum practice and course assessment.Some experiences and effects have been achieved on student independent learning,students'interest stimulating and problemsolving in this reformpractice.
