The Change of the Emperor's Attitude towards Confucianism in Sui Dynasty

儒学发展在隋文帝统治时期,前后经历了一个起伏变化的过程,即开皇前期较为重视,而开皇末至仁寿年间则是备受冷落。但不可否认的是,儒学在开皇年间的短暂发展为其在唐时兴盛奠定了良好的基础。基于材料的排比钩沉,隋文帝对待儒学态度前后发生的巨大变化,主要与其少年时期的成长经历、称帝后面临的朝局时事的变化以及晚年的自满懈怠等因素有关。

Confucianism has experienced a changing process,during the reign of Emperor Wen in Sui dynasty.The period of Kai-Huang early stage Confucianism has been paid more attention,while during the Kai-Huang late stage to Ren-Shou period,the development of Confucianism suffered desolate.But it is undeniable that during Kai-Huang period the brief development of Confucianism laid a good foundation for its prosperity in the Tang Dynasty.Great changes in the attitude of emperor wen towards Confucianism Mainly with the experience of his young growth,as the emperor faced the great change of the situation and old age’s self complacency and slack.All of these has led to his attitude changed toward Confucianism.
