The Pragmatic Strategies of Experts' Discourse in Academic Conference Discussions

学术会议话语因为在学术人员实践活动中的重要作用受到了会话分析和语用学的关注。本研究结合两场学术会议小组讨论中的专家点评,采用会话分析的方法对其从语用学视角进行了定性研究。研究发现,这类话语使用了因果式策略、赞同式策略、探讨式策略和指正式策略。不同的语用策略使用了不同的话语模式,它们都是为了满足不同语境下的交际需要,达到了特定的交际效果。研究认为,加强这类学术会议话语的本土化研究,有利于促进学术人员的交流和沟通。

The language of conferencing has become one important part of conversation analysis and pragmatics because of its great role in academic practice.Through the approach of conversation analysis,the study investigates different pragmatic strategies the Chinese experts have used in two academic conference discussions,based on spontaneous conversations collected by recording.It is concluded that the discourse of Chinese academic experts have distinctive features.They satisfy certain communicative needs and achieve certain communicative effects.The study suggests the importance of situating such a kind of research in local contexts.The findings can deepen the understanding of academic communication that involves native Chinese speakers.
