China's Diplomacy in the New Era:Opening up New Horizons with a New Outlook

2017年，不论对世界还是中国，都是具有特殊和重要意义的一年。对世界而言，国际格局和力量对比正处于发展演变的重要关头，各种不稳定不确定因素日益增多，诸多新问题新挑战层出不穷。人类社会再一次走到历史的十字路口，是开放还是封闭，是合作还是对抗，是共赢还是零和？对这些问题，各方都在认真思索。在此过程当中，大国作出什么样的选择，将会牵动世界的未来发展，也攸关人类的前途命运。

In the year of 2017, China's diplomacy has made many breakthroughs and important headway. China has drawn up the blueprint for jointly undertaking the Belt and Road Initiative, has been a strong advocate of economic globalization, has been an anchor for stable relations among major countries, has worked to maintain stability in our neighborhood and the sound momentum of regional cooperation, and has ushered in the second "Golden Decade" of BRICS cooperation. The year 2018 will go down as the year for the beginning of the implementation of the decisions taken at the 19 th CPC National Congress. As socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, China needs to gain a new outlook, make new accomplishments and take new responsibilities in the conduct of foreign policy. Living in a world of major changes, transformations and adjustments, China will continue to act as a responsible major country to contribute to world peace, promote global development, and uphold the international order.
