摘要
就中国儒释道典籍翻译而言,汉学家翻译中国经典不仅有时空维度的差异,而且有民族心理的裂痕,因此如何正确看待传教士翻译中国典籍是一个重要课题。李新德新著《明清时期西方传教士中国儒道释典籍之翻译与诠释》(下文如有提到则简称《翻译与诠释》)[1]系其十多年来在比较文学研究、明清传教士研究、翻译研究、汉语本土的儒道释经典研究与西方汉学研究等方面的成果。该书从宗教传播和文化交流出发,运用西方翻译理论和比较文学形象学理论系统梳理、探讨了西方传教士如何翻译中国经典,为中国经典走出去提供了新的视角。
As for the study of translation and interpretation of Chinese Confucianism,Daois,and Buddhism,though for several causes there exits great discrepancy while missionaries translating Chinese classics,it cannot be ignored that Western missionaries have made great contributions.The book Translation and Interpretation of Chinese Confucian,Daoist,and Buddhist Canons by Western Missionaries During the Ming and Qing Dynasties by Li Xinde is such a book concerning with comparative literature studies,missionary studies,translation studies,Chinese native Confucianism,Buddhism,Taoism studies and Western sinology research.Based on the traditional Western translation theory and imagology in comparative literature,the book aims to provide a new perspective for the spread of Chinese classics abroad.
