The Elegance of The Hedgehog is the second novel of the French female writer-Muriel Barbery.It has been published in31countries all over the world.Through the views of Renee and Paloma,the novel told a story which took place in a high-grade residential area of Paris.With her unique narrative perspective,aphoristic satire,ingenious narrative structure and the unexpected ending,the author focused on feminism and re-appeared the real life of women.She also expressed the doubt and the thinking of women’s destinies and the meaning of their life.It uses the alternant angle of view of Renee and Paloma to display her admiration towards Eastern especially Japanese culture.Thanks to this kind of culture throughout the whole book,this novel which themes on feminism could become more attractive and graceful.
