How to use “Reading Objects” in the research of collections: Take the Nobel Prize Medal of Tsung-Dao Lee Library in Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an example

在博物馆学中,藏品研究占据十分重要的位置。传统的藏品研究方法局限于藏品的年代、形制、功用等方面,对于藏品所处的历史情境有所忽略,因而获得的藏品信息亦不完整。本文以上海交通大学李政道图书馆所藏的诺贝尔奖章为例,阐释运用“Reading-Objects”分析法,为藏品研究提供新的思路及视野。

The research of the collections is very important in museology,but the traditional research method focuses on the age,shape,function and so on of the collections.The historical context of the collections is neglected,so that the knowledge of collections is incomplete.This article takes the Nobel Prize Medal of Tsung-Dao Lee library in Shanghai Jiao Tong University as an example,and analyzes how to use“Reading Objects”to provide new ideas in the research of the collections.
