Family doctors play an primary and core role in delivering contractual services. However,in view of the delivery status of the contractual services across regions in China, there is an insufficient number of qualified family doctors for delivering such services for satisfying the ever-increasing healthcare needs of residents. Therefore, taking a variety of measures to strengthen the training of family doctors, and vigorously carrying out on-site training about contractual services for primary physicians before transferring to the position of family doctors are important ways to solve the problem.Based on the review of domestic and international latest related articles,we reported the current status of training about contractual services for primary physicians before transferring to the position of community-based family doctors, analyzed the existed challenges and proposed targeted countermeasures, such as improving the social position and service quality level of family doctors, standardizing the construction of family doctors'training base, strengthening the building of family doctor teacher team, and advancing the level of community-based family doctors in using electronic health information, with a view to increasing the post-transfer training effect, which in turn promoting the delivery of contractual services.
