中西方文化差异下公示语英译有效性研究

Study on the Validity of English Translation of Public Signs in the Cultural Difference between China and the West

人们的日常生活与公示语有着紧密的联系,公示语方便了人们的社会生活,群众对于公示语的接受程度也比较高。我国的现状和中华文化都可以通过公示语体现。但在英译公示语过程中,翻译者要掌握中西方文化差异,并提高重视程度。翻译要充分展现目标读者的文化习惯,从而减少理解偏差,作者在公示语存在中西方文化差异的背景下,探究中西方文化差异下公示语英译的有效性。

People’s Daily life is closely related to public signs which are convenient for people’s social life.The public have higher acceptance towards public signs through which the present situation of our country and Chinese culture can be embodied.However,in the process translating English public signs,translators should master the differences between Chinese and western cultures and attach greater attention to the cultural difference.Translation should fully display target readers’cultural habit,thus reduce the understanding deviation.Under the background of the cultural differences between China and the West in the public language,this paper explores the effectiveness of English translation of public signs.
