On Iris Murdoch's Pornographic Narrative from the Perspective of Georges Bataille:A Case Study of The Unicorn

20世纪英国作家艾丽丝·默多克是一位以回归传统伦理之善著称的小说家,但其小说《沙堡》《独角兽》《意大利女郎》等从不同程度和角度来看均具有哲学层面的色情化书写特质。之所以出现这种矛盾,结合法国思想家乔治·巴塔耶的色情思想来看,它与默多克无法避开的社会现实有关:理性文明对人和世界产生普遍异化,而色情作为一种理性社会的异质性存在,它既是世俗社会的必然结果,也是解决理性矛盾的一种自然出路。基于此,本论文将以集中凸显了默多克色情化书写的《独角兽》为例,分析默多克彰显的色情方式和客观效果。

Iris Murdoch,a British novelist of20th century,was famous for returning to traditional ethics.Her novels,however,such as The Castle,The Unicorn,The Italian Girl and so on,in varying degree,show pornographic narrative from some perspectives.The reason why such a contradiction generates is that Murdoch could not keep away from the severe reality she lived in where reason alienated human being and the world,according to the view of pornography of French thinker Georges Bataille.But pornography,the heterogeneity of reason,is not only the outcome of the profound society but also the natural way to overcome the problems reason brought.Therefore,it is necessary to take The Unicorn,which fully shows Murdoch's the pornographic narrative?as a case study to analyze the ways and effects of the narrative in Murdoch's novels.
