张澄基译《米拉日巴十万道歌集》在英语世界的译介与接受

The Translation and Reception of The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa in the English World

米拉日巴道歌是藏族典籍重要的作品之一,体现了米拉日巴的智慧和思想。从上世纪中叶起,陆陆续续有多个译者对米拉日巴道歌进行了翻译,本文选择第一个全译本——张澄基的译本作为研究对象,考察译者身份、翻译动机、翻译策略、译本特色等内容,并调查该译本在英语世界的接受情况,分析译介成功的原因,以期对藏族典籍和藏族文化"走出去"提供有益的启示。

Mila Grubum is one of the most important Tibetan classics,which reflects Milarepa’s wisdom and thoughts.Several translators have translated Mila Grubum into English since the middle period of last century.This research chooses the English version translated by Garma C.C.Chang as the research object,doing a research on translator’s identity,translation motives,translation strategy and translation features.The reception of the English version in the western world has been investigated,and the reason of good translation and well reception has been analyzed in this paper as well.Hopefully this research can provide some inspiration for the overseas translation and promotion of Tibetan classics.
