“I don't kill Boren”——Analysing the Cause of He Xinyin's Death

关于泰州学派何心隐之死,其与张居正的思想冲突是一个不容忽视的重要因素,早已埋下了何心隐之死的伏笔,故张居正虽未杀何心隐,何心隐却因他而死。但究其根本,何心隐之死很大程度上应当归咎于其自身:迥异于时代的思想使其树敌较多,为人又不够"聪明",所作所为引起了封建统治集团的恐慌和反感,最终将自己推入死亡的深渊。

He Xinyin is one of the most prominent thinkers in Tai Zhou School.The conflict of thoughts between Zhang Juzheng and He is one of the important factors affecting He Xinyin’s death.Though Zhang didn't kill He,the conflict between them cannot be ignored,which have already made the foreshadowing for He’s death.However,tracing to its root,the death of He should blame himself to a great degree.His unique idea distinguished himself from the age,which made a lot of enemies;besides,he was not smart enough and his behaviour caused a panic and antipathy among the feudal ruling class,thus all these eventually pushed himself into the abyss of death.
