In the China-U.S. relations, there are competitions and cooperation. On political and strategic level, it is prior to competition while in other aspects, it may prioritize cooperation, with sometimes competition and cooperation coexisting. At the same time, there is a"magnifying glass effect" in China-U.S. relations, looming some positive(negative) aspects of the relationship between the two countries, with the consequence of improving(worsening)mutual relation, and of affecting their respective decision-making. These have, to a certain extent, been demonstrated in the summit diplomacy and the dispute on South China Sea. Such a magnifying effect will affect a proper understanding of China-U.S. relations, and may impose a negative influence on its development.
