The Web and the Rock outlines the protagonist George Weber from the town where he spent his childhood to the big city New York where he worked hard in youth, and then to Europe where he treated the hurts of affection. The changing of geographical spaces made George become mature and so that he could recognize himself and the world.Different spaces reflecthis impulse ofreturning homeand the search for his soul homethrough the intersection and collisionproduced by memories. Finally,he reached a reconciliation with self space and social space, but the helpless truth revealed the disillusion of nostalgia utopia.
