评许渊冲译李商隐《无题》的得与失

Comments on Xu yuanchong's Gains and Losses in His Transiation of Li shangyin's“Wuti”

翻译是跨文化交际的特点之一,译者在翻译的过程中充当桥梁作用。本文从许渊冲的"意美,音美,形美"三美原则对他翻译的李商隐的诗《无题》进行评价,并指出译文的得与失。本文认为,要在音、形、意之间达到完美的统一几乎是不可能的,许译《无题》也存在形式与意义矛盾这一缺憾。

Translation is one of the characteristics of intercultural communication.The translator acts as a bridge role in the process of translation.This paper evaluates the gains and losses of the translation of To One Unnamed by Xu Yuanchong who advocates his“three beauty principles”in Chinese-English translation.This paper argues that it is almost impossible to achieve the perfect unity among sense,sound and style and conflicts between style and sense in translation always remain.
