A Study of the Edict of Pitres and the Formation of the West Francia Laws during the Mid-ninth Century

敕令是研究加洛林政治、军事史极为重要的史料。西法兰克国王秃头查理864年颁布的《皮特雷敕令》被誉为加洛林敕令的顶峰。本文从解读该敕令的文本结构和内容出发,进而对其产生的时代背景以及其历史传统、制度文化和执行成效等方面进行多维度的分析研究,以期透过该敕令,来了解西法兰克国王在稳定社会秩序、管理政治事务、军事防御建设等方面的努力。

Edicts are very important sources to study the political and military history of the Carolingians. Enacted in 864, the Edict of P?tres is considered the climax of Carolingian capitulary. Based upon an investigation of the text of the Edict of P?tres, this study makes a multi-dimensional inquiry of the direct background, historical tradition, institutional culture, and implementation effects to achieve a deeper understanding about the efforts that the West Francia Kingdom made for its social stability, administration, and defense.
