理雅各与高本汉的《尚书》注释比较研究

A Comparative Study on the Annotations of Shang Shu by James Legge and Bernhard Karlgren

《尚书》是中国最早的典籍,著名的英国汉学家理雅各和瑞典汉学家高本汉都曾对其进行过翻译和注释。他们的注释有着各自的学术特色,在注释目的、理念、内容、方法等方面既存在一些相同之处,又有诸多不同;其不同原因主要包括各自所处的社会语境、个人经历、对典籍的认识以及参考资料的选择等。从互文性理论的视角来看,理注与高注所引用的互文本的社会内容有所不同,二者对互文本的引用、吸收等也有诸多的不同,表现出一定的创造性。其不同也反映了西方汉学对中国文化的认识经过了一个从"注释性"到"解释性"的演变过程。对其进行比较研究,不仅可以进一步体认西人对《尚书》等中国典籍的认知路径和规律,也可以为汉学、翻译学以及中国文化"走出去"的研究提供有益的启示。

Shang Shu is the earliest ancient book in China,the well-known British sinologist James Legge and Swedish sinologist Bernhard Karlgren have all rendered and annotated it.With their own academic characteristics,the two kinds of annotations have both some similarities and differences in their purposes,concepts,contents and methods,and the main reasons for their differences include the social context,the two commentators’personal experiences,their understanding of the book,as well as their choice of the references.From the perspective of the theory of intertextuality,there are different social contents in the intertexts cited by them,and their quotation and absorption of the intertexts are also different,showing certain creativity in their own texts.The differences between the two also reflect the evolution process of the cognizance of Chinese culture from“annotation”to“interpretation”in sinology.Therefore,the comparative study of the annotations of the two sinologists can not only further deepen the understanding of western scholars’cognitive path and laws to Chinese classics,such as Shang Shu etc.,but also provide some useful enlightenment to the study of sinology,translation and Chinese culture’s“going out”.
