An Analysis on Wang Kaiyun's Thought of “Governing by Classics of Rite”

王闿运是近代湖湘礼学大师。他受湖湘经世学风熏染,抱持"通经致用"的学术理念,力主从古代经典中寻求拨乱致治之道,提出"礼治"本于"自治"的礼学经世论,并以"读礼、析礼、明礼、践礼"的具体措施,将其治经理念落到实处。

Wang Kaiyun is a master of modern Huxiang ritual study.Influenced by the study style of learning for the governance of our nation in the area of south Dongting Lake,he held the academic idea of"being well versed in Confucian classics and putting it into practice",he advocated to seek from the ancient classics the way of bringing order out of a disordered China,put forward the theory of“rule of etiquette based on self-government”,and practiced his idea of studying be ritual classics by reading,analyzing,understanding and practice.
