功能视域下《关雎》英译本对比研究

A Contrastive Study on the English Versions of Guanju : A Functional Perspective

以系统功能语言学内的经验功能为理论框架,通过比较《关雎》两个英译本的不同及物性系统,尝试找出产生译文差异的动因,以期为《关雎》的翻译研究提供一个新视角。研究发现:两个英译本在及物性过程、参与者角色、环境成分等的选择上确实存在差异。主要有三个原因引发差异:语言系统的不同,译者主体性有别,思维方式的差异。

Within the theoretical framework of experiential function in Systemic Functional Linguistics,and by exemplifying discrepancies in transitivity system between the two English versions of Guanju,this paper intends to expound the underlying motivations for those differences,in an attempt to provide a new approach into translation studies of Guanju.It is discovered that the two English versions do differ in the application of transitivity process,participant,as well as circumstantial element.According to this paper,possible motivations for the dissimilarities mainly lie in three aspects,namely,different linguistic systems;translator's subjectivity;differences of the thinking pattern.
