杨翼骧先生一生学术成果丰硕,他的身上有两种相辅相成的治史风格,推动他不断前进和创新。一是他谙熟古代典籍文献,并精于钩稽、考订;二是善于以观点统帅材料,重视理论创新。二者相得益彰。后一种治史风格,可以归纳为如下四项:博采睿思,中肯评价;深入发掘,阐释精华;实事求是,辩证分析;开拓创新,探索体系。他的学术成果和理论建树,为后人研史提供了极为宝贵的启示。

Yang Yixiang's rich academic achievements throughout his life indicate two complementary styles of historiography,which promote him to continue to advance and innovate.He is familiar with ancient documents and adept at scrutinizing and mak.ing examinations;he is good at using viewpoints to master the materials and attach importance to theoretical innovation.Both of them complement each other.The latter style of historical treatment can be summed up in the following four categories:wide collec.tion,impartial evaluation;in-depth exploration,interpretation of the essence;seeking truth from facts,dialectical analysis;explora.tion and innovation,systemic exploration,etc.His academic and theoretical achievements have provided invaluable inspiration for the later history research.
