本文论述了中国地学会组建与分立,中国地理科学与地质科学的创建与杰出人士的贡献,概述了现代旅游地学(旅游地理、旅游地质)发展进程与成就,探讨地学旅游何以是高端旅游根基问题。提出旅游"以人为本",追求"人地和谐"、"天人合一"创新境界。提倡"寓教于游"、"寓政于游"、"寓文于游",让人类游中得益,扩大眼界,增加新识,获得信息,丰富阅历,开启智慧,增强体质,促进精神饱满,精力充沛,从而投入新一轮工作,彰显"培育与修复生产力"的功能。作为产业集群,扩大就业,改善生态,富民美地,旅游消费成为度量人类幸福指数的重要标志之一。
