Aiming at the application of programmable interface chip 8253 timing and counting function in the factory,an automatic timing and counting system based on 8253 chip is designed,which can realize the counting of the product and the end of the counting.This paper mainly introduces the structure and working principle of programmable interface chip 8253,and presents the hardware and software design method of the system.The system can impr ove the efficiency of the plant.
